Student Gmail Account Information
All students are being assigned a college email address to facilitate better communications between students and college faculty, staff and other students. This email account will become the primary email address that the colleges will use to communicate to you via email beginning September 8, 2009.
To access your student email account, go to: https://www.google.com/a/email.portervillecollege.edu/
Google Login Information:
Username = Your username is your Student ID, minus the @ sign.
Password = Your MyBanWeb PIN (The 6 digit numeric password you use to log into MyBanWeb)
Email Address: <<nickname@email.portervillecollege.edu>>
Print a copy of this page, or write down the above information.
You will notice that your Username is different than your email name. An initiative to reduce the number of usernames and passwords students must have to access college systems is underway. The Student ID has been identified as the single username that will eventually be used by students to access all college systems and that is why you must use it to access your student email. However, a numeric email name is not acceptable and a nickname was created using your first and last name to create a more acceptable email address. Unfortunately, your nickname cannot be used to log into Google to access your email.
Important communications such as information from your instructors, information about financial aid and billing information will be sent to you student email account beginning August 15, 2009. You will need to check your student email account on a regular basis, or setup your student email account to forward to an account that you access on a regular basis.
If you wish to forward email from your student email account to any other email account, you will need to log into your student Gmail account and setup email forwarding. For more information about email forwarding, see the Email Forwarding tutorial.
