Please note:

The Board of Governor’s Fee Waiver is not affected by the Return to Title IV Federal regulations. A student who is suspended from financial aid may still enroll at Porterville College and receive a Fee Waiver, if eligible.

Return to Title IV (R2T4)

Repayment of Financial Aid

Students who withdraw from all their courses during the semester may have to repay some or all of the Title IV federal aid received for classes. It is very important that students who must withdraw from courses stop by the Office of Financial Aid and discuss options available.

Under Federal Laws, which regulate student financial aid programs, students who withdraw from ALL courses prior to completing 60% of the semester, and who received all F and/or NP grades for that term, will be required to repay a portion of the federal financial aid they received for that semester.

IF YOU DROP YOUR COURSES, YOU MAY OWE...
Federal regulation regarding repayment of money under the Return of Title IV funds mandates:

*If you receive a GRANT and then withdraw from all your courses, you will owe a repayment to the federal program

*This does not affect your work-study funds, if you receive work money, you do not owe a repayment for this grant only.

DO NOT WITHDRAW UNLESS YOU MUST!!! If you must withdraw, come into the financial aid office to discuss your repayment options.

During the semester, the withdrawal dates of all financial aid recipients who withdrew from all their courses are checked. Students who withdrew prior to the 60% of course completion will be reviewed for possible repayment. Those students who must repay will be notified by mail and the amount due must be repaid before any further financial aid funds can be disbursed.
