Who qualifies for PC CalWORKs?

  • You must be receiving cash aid benefits from TulareWORKs
  • You must be enrolled and attending classes at Porterville College
  • You must be in compliance with TulareWORKs and Welfare to Work Plan

What does PC CalWORKs offer?

  • Education and training that could lead to employment
  • The required 32 or 35 hour week by combining classes and work-study
  • Work-study programs that may be exempt from cash aid
  • Work experience or on-the-job training
  • Financial assistance to qualified recipients
  • Academic counseling to provide a supportive and informative environment that encourages student success
  • Confidential liaison and advocacy between students, the college, the Department of Human Services and other community agencies.
